Wagon R Flex Fuel Delivery Starts: Price, Features, and Engine Details Revealed

Maruti Suzuki has officially started delivering the Wagon R Flex Fuel shortly after its launch on June 15, 2026. The hatchback holds a significant milestone as India’s first flex fuel passenger vehicle. The initial batch of deliveries has been handed over to the Indian Sugar and Bio-Energy Manufacturers Association (ISMA).

Price and Availability

At present, the Wagon R Flex Fuel is available exclusively for commercial buyers in India. Based on the ZXi+ 1.2-litre manual variant, the flex fuel version carries a premium of Rs 86,000 over the standard model. It is priced at Rs 7.24 lakh (ex-showroom).

Exterior Design Remains Familiar

In terms of styling, the Wagon R Flex Fuel looks nearly identical to the regular Wagon R. The only noticeable updates include special ‘Flex Fuel’ graphics on the sides and a ‘Bioflex’ badge on the tailgate, highlighting its ethanol-compatible technology.

Interior and Features

The cabin layout remains unchanged from the standard version. It features a dual-tone interior theme, a three-spoke steering wheel, and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wired Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. Safety equipment includes six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and several other modern convenience features.

Engine and Flex Fuel Technology

Powering the Wagon R Flex Fuel is a 1.2-litre four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. To support E85 ethanol-blended fuel, Maruti Suzuki has upgraded key components such as the fuel injectors, fuel pump, ethanol sensor, ECU calibration, and fuel lines.

The company has not yet announced the official power output and fuel-efficiency figures. For reference, the standard 1.2-litre Wagon R produces 91 hp and 114 Nm of torque, while delivering an ARAI-certified mileage of up to 23.56 kmpl.
