The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur has started the application process for admission to its undergraduate BTech and BS programmes for the 2026-27 academic session through the Olympiad Channel. This admission pathway offers talented students an opportunity to secure a seat at IIT Kanpur without appearing for JEE Advanced.
Eligible candidates can submit their applications through the official IIT Kanpur website until June 15, 2026, at 5:00 PM.
Eligibility Requirements
Students applying through the Olympiad Channel must have appeared for their Class 12 or equivalent examination for the first time in either 2025 or 2026. Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics must have been studied as compulsory subjects at the higher secondary level.

- Registration Fee Details
Female candidates, as well as applicants belonging to the SC, ST, and PwD categories, are required to pay a registration fee of ₹1,600.
All other candidates must pay a registration fee of ₹3,200.

Selection Through Computer-Based Test
Admission through the Olympiad Channel will be based on a Computer-Based Test (CBT) conducted exclusively by IIT Kanpur. The examination is scheduled for June 24, 2026.
Candidates will be shortlisted based on their performance in the CBT.
Result and Admission Schedule
IIT Kanpur will publish the final answer key and examination results on June 27, 2026. Candidates who receive seat allotments must complete the admission confirmation process by July 1, 2026, to secure their seats.
The Olympiad Channel serves as an alternative admission route, enabling high-achieving students to join IIT Kanpur’s prestigious undergraduate programmes without participating in the JEE Advanced examination.
