The National Testing Agency has released the complete schedule for the postgraduate entrance examination. This year the exam will be conducted in multiple phases in March and entirely in computer-based mode. The schedule is considered crucial for lakhs of candidates as it helps them plan their preparation strategy. CUET PG 2026 will be the primary basis for admission into postgraduate courses in central and participating universities across the country.
CUET PG: Understand Exam Dates, Shifts and Pattern
According to the official notice, the examination will be held between 6 March and 27 March 2026. It will be conducted in 44 shifts, with 2–3 sessions each day. Candidates of different subjects will receive separate dates and time slots to ensure smooth conduct of the exam.This year, tests will be conducted for 157 subjects. The first day will begin with subjects such as Yoga, Sanskrit, Urdu and Sports Science. The duration of the exam is fixed at 90 minutes.
The question paper will be objective type and negative marking will apply, similar to previous years so that students do not face difficulty adapting to a new pattern.Students are advised to check their subject-wise schedule in advance and plan their preparation accordingly. As per official information, the exam city slip will be released about 10 days before the exam, while the admit card will be issued later. This helps candidates plan travel and time management every year.
Medium, Subjects and Important Instructions
A total of 411,366 candidates have registered this year. Applicants were allowed to choose up to four subjects. Most question papers will be available in Hindi and English, while language papers will be conducted in the respective language. Some M.Tech and science papers will be only in English, and Acharya courses will be conducted in Sanskrit.
